Hopefully the road through Hargrave now looks a little less Busy!?
Good news; The Village Parish Council (mainly due to Colin Painters persistence it must be said) has been successful in stopping the large number of lorries swarming through the village.
These related to the Anglian Water pipeline works and the volume of traffic was actually 10 times the amount for which they had approval!
The lorries have been instructed, with immediate effect, to use an alternative route of A roads route to get to the A143. (A143 Chedburgh, Parkway A1302, Tayfen Road A1302, Compiegne Way A143, Junction 43 A14).
If we continue to see these contractor lorries, mostly from HAIRDS, Mick George, Holbrook, then please do report it to a Parish Councillor for onward communication to Anglian Water

Christmas Services
Thank you to everyone who helped with readings at the carol Service. Many people said how well everyone read and good to see all sorts of different faces reading. One of the emails we’ve had since said “Thank you for an excellent carol service, probably the best I have attended in my time in Hargrave. Great inclusive service that kept everybody involved and Clive (Rev Clive Fairclough) did a marvellous job. The church was beautifully decorated and looked it’s very best, and the hospitality was spot on…Well done”

Today an ANPR speed camera has been installed in the village for the first time. It is expected to make regular random appearances during the trial period and hopefully beyond. This device not only records the date/time and speed, it also takes a photograph of every speeding vehicle.
